Over the years, I’ve seen so many people that were simply miserable because of work challenges. I’ve also been one of those people but after learning how to conquer my own issues at work, now I’m on a mission to help employees and leaders create a work experience conducive to wellness–both in mindset and in connection with others in the workplace. Lessons from my book Rise & Shine Bright at Work: 12 Powerful Mornings to Conquer the Office Shenanigans and extended research, were developed into workshops and are available to organizations, faith-based institutions, corporations, and professional groups.
Can you believe that almost 70% of U.S. employees don’t find their jobs to be fulfilling? [A statistic pulled in 2017 yet the sentiment still applies.] You probably can, especially if you’re not happy in your career. I remember a time when my job was not a healthy environment to be in for 8 hours a day. It was a stressful time, but I made the conscious decision to make a change. Along with starting my day with a healthy breakfast, I refined the manner in which I handled stressful workplace situations, using biblical principles. Taking positive action in this way made an impact on my everyday wellness—physically and mentally.
There are various factors that contribute to not having joy at work. It could be an unreasonable workload, a lack of leadership training, workplace conflict, peer competition, work anxieties, and more. However, if any of your group members can relate to at least one of these hurdles, I want your group to know that it’s possible to change their reality for their benefit and the betterment of their work community. I will share with them examples, solutions and practicals that they can apply immediately. These are some of the workshop topics we dive into.

She has over three decades of work experience in various industries from financial services to music recording and a knowledge of biblical principles and psychology research focused on wellness in the workplace.

Yardley is a faith-based author of the book, Rise & Shine Bright at Work: 12 Powerful Mornings to Conquer the Office Shenanigans. And she’s the founder of the blog, www.RiseandShineBright.com.
Yardley has earned a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing at Hofstra University. She’s a graduate of the Institute for Integrative Nutrition. Yardley is also currently earning her Masters in Organizational Psychology at the University of Hartford.
