“Anyone who is among the living has hope—even a live dog is better off than a dead lion!” Ecclesiastes 9:4
God has called us to a living hope. We have not been called into a dead hope or a life of hopelessness. 1 Peter 1:3 says,
“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,”
A living dog is better than a dead lion. While there is life, there is hope. The Lord is able to restore all the years and all our losses. Be hopeful, for all is not lost.
“The Lord blessed the latter days of Job more than his beginning; for he had fourteen thousand sheep, six thousand camels, one thousand yoke of oxen, and one thousand female donkeys. He also had seven sons and three daughters.” Job 42:12-13
For several years, Abraham and Sarah walked in barrenness, but the Lord changed their story and situation overnight. The same Lord of miracles can and is willing to give us an overnight miracle. Again, the man at the Pool of Bethesda was in the same situation for 38 years because he did not have a man to help him (John 5:1-6). When the Lord Jesus visited the pool, the man’s story changed.
Perhaps you are in a similar situation and feel hopeless like the man at the pool of Bethesda. The God of hope who restored Job’s losses, remembered Abraham in his old age, and changed the man’s situation, will change your situation. Be hopeful for there is hope for the living. There is hope for you. We will experience God’s visitation and our story will change.
REFLECTIVE PRAYERI pray that the Lord will open our eyes, mind, and heart to deeply know the hope to which God has called us and the riches of His glorious and wonderful inheritance in Heaven. (Ephesians 1:19a) Continue with your personal prayer.
Rise and Shine Bright.
